Central Heating

At Heating, Hotwater & More! We cover all aspects of central heating, from general maintenance, repair, complete installations, refurbishments and upgrades to your existing system.

Multi-fuel systems

New generations of thermal stores now facilitate an interface between multiple heat inputs, storing energy from different heat sources, providing mains pressure hot water and contributing to a household heating system. Thermal Stores provide increased system efficiency, reducing running costs

A thermal store is the simple, safe way to provide mains pressure hot water to your taps. Suitable for numerous heat sources including Gas and Oil boilers, Wood burning stoves, heat recovery systems, and AGA's.

Sealed or Vented systems?

Central heating systems have several different types each with differing advantages and drawbacks according to your needs. Whilst there are several varieties the two main types of system are vented and sealed systems.

In older properties you generally find the pumped/vented system. You will notice that this configuration incorporates a cold water storage tank, feed and expansion tank and hot water cylinder usually in a airing cupboard. If you look for the expansion tank you will usually find it in the attic were it is susceptible to freezing.

In newer properties you now find that a sealed central heating system is used. Sealed systems have fewer elements having no need for the cold water storage tank, feed and expansion tank or a airing cupboard to house your hot water cylinder. This delivers a number of benefits:

  • Frozen piping in the loft is eradicated
  • Ease of maintenance
  • Good water pressure
  • Reduced risk of airlocks.
  • Reduced Corrosion and gunk in system
  • Space saving

The sealed system is by far the better of the two, allowing layout versatility and reduced maintenance time. Both System and Combination boilers use the sealed heating system, the choice of boiler type will depend on the Hot Water system that is best suited for you and your property needs.

Radiators

We can service and maintain your radiators as well as replace or install new Radiators. We offer a range of radiators to suit your needs, as well as different types of radiator valves that suit the system you are using, to ensure your home is efficiently heated as well as keeping you warm!

Power Flushing

All central heating systems are unique and their condition depends on type, age and usage among other things but the symptoms of clogged or scaled systems are the same, a noisy boiler, cold radiators and high fuel bills. Power Flushing is an expression used to denote the process by which heating systems are forcibly cleansed using water at high velocity, but low pressure, so no physical damage is caused to the system. The process can be made even more effective with the addition of powerful cleansing and mobilising agents. Power flushing is also an excellent way to pre-commission clean new heating systems, to remove excess flux, swarf and other debris and the grease and oil used to prevent rusting of components before use. Power Flushing can clean your existing heating system if you are having problems.

MagnaClean

Keep your central heating operating at
peak performance.

The MagnaClean filter is a high efficiency magnetic filter which removes virtually 100% of circulating sludge. This comes from iron oxide deposits in your central heating system and removing these can help keep your system operating at its best. Even a small amount of sludge in the system can dramatically decrease its efficiency, causing cold spots in your radiators and reduce the lifespan of your boiler. Using MagnaClean could help you consume less energy, whilst keeping your home warm, and lead to lower heating bills.

The benefits?

  • Provides ongoing boiler maintenance
  • Improves and maintains central heating efficiency
  • Helps keep fuel bills under control
  • Reduces iron deposit in the central heating system
  • Helps avoid breakdowns and will extend the life of your boiler and components
